You know Lee right? He’s conquered the business world and now he’s channeling all he has into conquering the physical world, he’s our very own Pete Becker – minus the full body-cast!

On this particular occasion, Lee is taking on a huge challenge and for the second time – yes, we think he’s mad too! L’ETape Du Tour De France, the 20th Stage of the Tour De France. From Albertville to Val Thorens. Unfortunately this isn’t going to be 10 hours spent drinking fine wine, it’ll be 135km (yikes!) of grueling mountain climbs, with ascents totaling 4,563m, with the highest climb reaching 2,365m – Someone pass us muggles an oxygen mask!

The Lead Up

The lead up to the big event has been no cycle in the park either. Lee has traveled from Gran Canaria, to Kent, to Sienna, donning his Gator green helmet, powering his way up Pico De Las Nieves, flying down Biggin Hill and naviGatoring the cobbled streets of Italy in the Strade Bianche. As if after all of the above he wasn’t two tyred, he’s going all Jon Snow on us with plans to scale the wintry face of Mont Blanc and mastering the Maratona dles Dolomites just weeks before the big event.

Gators Get Involved

If you know CommuniGator well, you know we all bleed green, so on this particular adventure, the Lean, Green GatorMachine will be taking to life behind bars and riding with Lee every step of the way and don’t worry, we won’t be skimping out on the wheelie big hills! With the first Gator mounting the pedals at 6am on Sunday 21st July and the last dismounting when the full 135km is done. Ending it all with the most important leg of the race. The finishers beer!

Beyond pushing his body to the limits, there is, as always, a more important motive behind the cycling. A topic that touches everyone, everywhere to some degree. Macmillan heroically care for people dealing with anything cancer throws their way, not only the medical needs but the emotional, social and practical demands, their work is never done.

What Can You Do?

So if you’re even slightly impressed by Lee’s physical efforts, remember it is merely a drop in the ocean compared to those fighting an exhausting struggle, mentally and physically every day. Please help us help them by donating whatever you can here.
