Google have this week launched the Priority Inbox for Gmail, but what does this mean for the email marketer?
Gmail has for a long time had an intuitive and intelligent spam filtration system, but Priority Inbox takes this a step further, automatically organising your messages by their perceived ‘Importance’. This calculation is based on the emails that you read most frequently, those to which you have replied, and manual adjustments based on an increase or decrease in importance.
This means that to be successful as a marketer you are going to have to consistently deliver content that is both relevant and engaging, but to be honest, is this really anything new? We’ve been preaching this at our seminars for the last 3 years!! Personalisation, dynamic content, segmentation and interest scoring will become the key tools for all email practitioners from now on, and the good news is that GatorMail has these functionalities in abundance.
So the question shouldn’t now be, can I afford to use a solution like GatorMail, but rather, can I afford not to!!! View the Gmail Priority Inbox promotional video here
